Socket log excess

As of today I have 1217 socket logs in the MW 6.5.4 data file and I can see no way to stop them or reduce them or why I need them.

I copy all data every day to a NAS backup meaning I have 3651 logs stored at the moment.

Is it necessary? Is there a problem or have I missed a setting somewhere?

You can delete those. When MW closes part of the exit routine is to take those files and write them into a single mailwasher_debug file. But if MW crashes, or doesn't get to close gracefully then they can build up

Also be sure you don't have logging enabled under Help >> About.
