MailWasher 6.5.4 - problem connecting to registration server

Hi guys,

Never had this problem before (been using/reinstalling MW Pro since 2008), but today when having to reinstall MW after a new build, I'm getting the following error when trying to register:
There was a problem connecting to the registration server - please check your connection and try again!
I'm definitely connected to the internet & MW is in the Windows Firewall exceptions list.

Any help appreciated.

Are you running any other third party firewall?

No, have not used any third-party firewall since 2007.

Using AVG Free antivirus only since, but never had a problem before with it & MW.

Ah yes, MW 6 no longer uses online registration servers, they've been switched off.

If you email either forums@firetrust.com or support@firetrust.com with your email address we'll find your records under we can send you a new key to use that's for offline activation.

Thanks rusticdog, I contacted them over 3 hours ago.

Got an automated email to say they have received my message.

Unable to login to access the ticket status though, as I'm getting "Invalid Username or Password".

I'll just have to wait for the new key to be sent via email I suppose.

Having the same problem - purchased Mailwasher Pro back in August 2008, had 6.5.4 installed and activated from Windows XP through to Windows 7 and now Windows 10. Have had to reinstall MWP recently and having come across this thread, emailed support@firetrust.com on 28 January to get a key for offline activation, but yet to get a response.

I have all the emails confirming purchase of the MWP licence.

I had a look and couldn't find any emails in our support queue, which is a bit odd.
I found your previous records you mentioned above and have created a new MW 6 license for you, should arrive soon.

I notice on the email it says "Renew: 2017-02-10" - hopefully MWP won't do anything nasty in a year's time? :)

Will check it out, that's either for FirstAlert which is an addon or just something wrong in the wording, MW 6 doesn't use a license expiry system.

Same problem, Mailwasher Pro 6.3, purchased years ago back with Win 95 or something. Problems with upgrading to Win 10, so went with a clean install and of course I don't have the info needed to register Mailwasher (though I do still have the installation file archived). Tried obtaining key but get the same error about something going wrong when I try to activate. Came across this thread in the forum which is exactly what is happening. Can someone help me out? I have sent a note to support, but looks like that doesn't get much response according to this thread.

Sent now. In the license email will be a download link for MW 6, which is the one you want to install.

In addition to what has already been mentioned above by rusticdog, would strongly suggest updating to the latest 6.5.4 (it bears no relation to your issue, though.)
