not connected to internet but mailwasher says "last checked"

I have just upgraded to 7.9.0 tonight.
windows 10 pro
I have various WiFi hotspots around the home, each with different ssid names.
if I carry the laptop to another ssid area, the network wants to re-connect. I choose not to auto-connect because sometimes the wifi picks up a much weaker signal and downloads are very slow.

so when I have NOT yet connected to the internet via WiFi, I can clearly see that mailwasher pro 7.9.0 says "last checked at .. . . "
that's rubbish, It cannot check, there's no internet connection. without realising there's no connection, I wrongly assume there's no incoming emails/
surely the message sholud read "unable to connect to the internet"

it must be easy to ping "firetrust IP address" to make sure the internet is available, and show a relevant message

has anyone else noticed this anomaly ??

Yeah we could set this to display something more meaningful, presently it's the action of checking the accounts that determines the display of that message, whether or not the accounts can actually be checked successfully isn't something MailWasher looks at, rather just that a Check Mail action was performed xx minutes ago.

maybe I missed the point of the message,
you could not "checked xx minutes ago", you could not connect, wouldn't he jt just more useful to display a "connection lost" message

It would be more useful to display something like that. I wasn't too clear above, MailWasher sets that message when a Check Mail starts, it doesn't wait to see if the check completes before displaying 'mail was last checked xx minutes ago'.
