After upgrading to 7.11 Mailwasher fails to login to POP3 accounts.

Hello,

Since upgrading to 7.11 Mailwasher fails to login to any of my POP3 accounts. However, it still works correctly with my IMAP account.

I am running Mailwasher Pro on two computers (both Windows 10).

On one computer yesterday, I updated mailwasher to 7.11.
After installing and rebooting, mailwasher will not connect to POP3 accounts when checking for mail. All my Email Account Settings are still the same as before the update.
Error Message - "Failed to login to POP3 server"

On the second computer, mailwasher was not updated. Mailwasher still works perfectly checking and retrieving all mail as normal for both POP3 and IMAP.
All Email Account Settings are the same on both computers.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions to sort this out.

Disable pipelining — if that fails to work, post the screenshot of your POP3 setting after obfuscating/blanking-out just the part of your Username before the @ (as on my own screenshot):—
  • Settings >>----> Accounts >>----> (select the affected account) >>----> Incoming >>----> (click to expand) Advanced.

I am having the same issue.

I have tried disabling Pipelining - still not working.

Any other suggestions?

You can try sending me some logs to have a look at. If you go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'not logging in' >> in the Ticket Number field enter chris >> Send Logs.

Great, got the logs CJLin. It very much looks like a third party program blocking MailWasher, all your accounts are attempting to connect but timing out trying to reach the server.

Can you think of any programs you have installed that might block MailWasher ?

I haven't installed any other programs since the Mailwasher update and it was working fine before.

My a/v and firewall is Norton Security. I checked the firewall settings and MailWasherPro.exe is "allowed"access.

My suspicion is that Nortons is allowing the old MailWasherPro.exe but not the new from the update.

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling MailWasher, opt to keep your data files so you don't lose any settings. Maybe at the same time remove MailWasherPro.exe from the allowed list, so when you reinstall you get a fresh prompt from Nortons.

First thing I would try next, is try using SSL on one of the accounts. Under Settings >> Accounts >> select one that has some emails, then click the Incoming tab >> click Advanced >> select 'This server requires a secure connection" >> Save. See if that then loads the emails for that account.

Next I'd be looking at the Nortons AntiSpam feature, or the AntiVirus Email scanner. You can safely disable both, see then if the accounts work.
