Up front: I don't know if it is already possible right now, vainly searched for that option, but maybe I am checking out the wrong part of the settings.
It is a minor thing only, just for convenient sake.
Would it be possible to have either
- all mail viewed in HTML plus 'Showing Remote Content' tagged
or
- above for mail from specific senders, i.e. 'friends'-mail.
Thanks!

HTML-Preview for all or trusted mails?

Re: HTML-Preview for all or trusted mails?
Try Settings >> Display >> Inbox >> remove the check from Disable sticky HTML preview >> Save.
Now, when viewing emails from someone in your Friends List, once you set to view in HTML, other emails from Friends will default to HTML view. If you change to Plain Text view, then that becomes the default view for Friends.... it's a toggle option.

Should have added,
We're a bit cautious about HTML viewing and remote content. I don't think at this stage we'll at a feature to load remote content without having a user click first.

Thanks for the above.
I disabled sticky HTML view.
Exited MW and relaunched it.
No change.
Still need to click on the 'View in HTML' button to get the proper layout.

Re: HTML-Preview for all or trusted mails?
Odd, it's working OK for me, albeit a little slow to update from the plain to html view. As viewing in HTML, MailWasher retrieves the full message, so each message selected has MailWasher go off to get the rest of the text.
Once you've set to view in HTML on a Friends email, then that should set that view for Friends emails you later select.

Out of curiosity: why is it that you do not load remote content (for friends) ?
By no means this is meant as criticism... don't get me wrong.
Lucky to say that I am not an expert, so I am allowed to ask dumb questions :-)
I assume(!) that the remote content is on the mailserver and once Mailwasher shows the remote content,
then I guess it still on that mailserver and does not do any harm to/infect the pc...?
Therefore showing remote content is safe?
That aside, most people have decent AV-products installed, even Windows itself already has some kind of protection.

Re: HTML-Preview for all or trusted mails?
Remote content isn't on the mail server, rather it could be on any server.
An email that calls to load an image/style sheet etc.. can be loaded from whatever source set in the message content. It's most commonly used for message tracking, knowing when you opened the email and so on, which is more of a privacy issue than security.

Ah!
Yes, of course! Didn't realize it when writing, indeed data can be everywhere. Ahum..
That said and knowing about cookies and stuff, allow me to continue asking dumb questions
I would expect that retrieving remote data by Mailwasher differs from actually visiting the webpages directly
whilst using a browser?
What data is Mailwasher sending to those 'remote pages' ?
Maybe MAC address, but I wouldn't know what else.

Re: HTML-Preview for all or trusted mails?
It is essentially a browser window MailWasher loads, so remote content can reveal the same information you typically give up everyday browsing.

Okay, right. I understand.
I obviously didn't know that.
Thanks again.
