If Outlook is also having connection issues then yes, I would certainly consider a third part scanner as being a suspect. It should have the ability to disable the email scanning component, so I would try that first.

Check out the firewall module on NSS — also, take a look at the rules of your Windows Firewall (sometimes it refuses to get disabled in the presence of a 3rd party firewall.)janoble wrote:Can this be related to Norton Security Suite? I recently installed NSS free from Comcast.

I disabled the the NSS 'Email Protection' and it seems to have solved the problems with both MWP and Outlooik. So Norton does seem to be the issue. Now NSS wants to fix my changed configuration. I looked and couldn't find any way to identify "Trusted Apps" in NSS. Can someone explain.

Too fast! The email was not delivered because it had a potentially executable attachment "autosupport.eml". What now?

OK, just rename the file first to something like autosupport.txt and send me thatjenpen wrote:Too fast! The email was not delivered because it had a potentially executable attachment "autosupport.eml". What now?

Sorry again, just got around to this. I'm not getting email notifications so I keep forgetting. Looks like it worked this time. It will come from jen@ email address. Jen

I would first uninstall MW, but keep your data files when prompted.
Then install again http://cdn.firetrust.com/downloads/mail ... 072017.exe this version isn't much different than the one you have, just a few crash fixes.
Then run a .NET repair which you can download from https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/downloa ... x?id=30135
Do you have an AntiVirus email scanner ? If so, I'd look at disabling that too and see if the performance improves.
Graphics driver is another, the logs don't tell me the hardware in the laptop, but if a card is present, it might pay to look at that also.

Yup got it, unfortunately it doesn't provide any obvious reason why MW is running slow. Is it just MW running slow and everything else as expected ?jenpen wrote:Sorry again, just got around to this. Yep, just MW running slowly. Just seems to hang at the end of downloading and evaluating, eg "MW is evaluating message 16 of 16 ....." which can take a couple of minutes - always the last one. I'll try reinstalling. Thanks.

It might pay to generate a new set of logs too. So after the reinstall >> once MW has exhibited slowness, then do again the Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note and chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs.
Presumably as earlier the sending will fail, so you'll have to go through that process of renaming the autosupport eml file and sending it again manually.

You may want to double-check to see whether your account is correctly configured for automatic notifications — have just updated the visual directions for the new Board.jenpen wrote:I'm not getting email notifications so I keep forgetting.

Thanks rusticdog. I've just reinstalled and run the .NET repair so I'll see what difference it makes tomorrow.

OK, it's faster than before. Manageable. If I have further problems I'll email the log files again. Thanks for your help.
