I wrote about this before, but I either didn't get replies or I didn't get notice of replies.
Since Verizon (my ISP) put all email functions under AOL, I've noticed that emails I've "deleted" in Mailwasher show up in the Spam folder on the AOL webmail. I had MW set to delete emails from the recycle bin in 3 days. I just changed that to 2 days.
Thus my question, at what point does MW delete emails from the server.

In case that account is set to IMAP, it could possibly be set to move deleted messages to the Spam folder — did you try changing the folder to Trash instead:—KJS wrote:Since Verizon (my ISP) put all email functions under AOL, I've noticed that emails I've "deleted" in Mailwasher show up in the Spam folder on the AOL webmail.

The delete (on the server) should take effect immediately.KJS wrote:Thus my question, at what point does MW delete emails from the server.

Thanks for the reply. I don't use IMAP. "Store cached emails" is NOT checked.

In that case, it's quite likely something to do with the AOL webmail — there's no other provision on MWP to move deleted messages to the Spam folder (apart from the one mentioned on my previous post.)

Sign into your AOL account and change the settings there to stop using their Spam filter.KJS wrote:I wrote about this before, but I either didn't get replies or I didn't get notice of replies.

That's an idea. It's just that they catch "legitimate" spam.

But that is what we use MWP for. Alternative is to change the account from POP to IMAP and then you can see the Spam folder but there are other downsides to it.KJS wrote:That's an idea. It's just that they catch "legitimate" spam.
