Re: Bouncing

I bounce spam emails in the hope that I will get knocked off whatever lists although the spam keeps coming. It is really a useless feature. It is only good for bouncing " legitimate " emails from your X, not for spam. The problem is spammers don't use their own email addresses. Instead, they "spoof...

Re: gmail sees Mailwasher as an insecure app?

Hmmm, Just checked my GMail settings, that slider is set to ON. And just to make sure I did not create an exclusion for MWP sometime in the past and simply forgot (a distinct possibility), I checked the "Apps connected to your account" and I have no apps listed.

Re: gmail sees Mailwasher as an insecure app?

This seems odd to me. I do NOT have "Use OAUTH" checked and gmail is not reporting anything bad about MailWasher. Is that just an IMAP issue (I use POP3)?

Re: [Bugs + Suggestions]: "The NEW Board Upgrade"

When I try to enter the "approximately" symbol as found on the uppercase "tick" (reverse single quote) key (to the left of the 1 and ! key on a standard US keyboard), I get a slightly superscripted, slightly enlarged hyphen. That is, I get this: ~ Note a real hyphen is this: - Even when entering as ...

Re: Mailwasher Pro has become pointless

Being a lady that can not only build my own machines, configure them and more, manually setting a mail box has never been a problem until... I totally sympathize with you here. I've been involved with computers since before most regulars on this site were born and setting up a new email program is ...

Re: Recycle Bin restores emails on wrong date

uncheck the current date column you are using and select Sent. Or, have both, if you have space. I have both Sent and Received displayed because I like to see how long a message has been bouncing around the Internet between the time it was sent and the time I actually receive it. It is usually with...

Re: Recycle Bin restores emails on wrong date

This is unavoidable unfortunately. MailWasher restores the email by essentially re-sending it as a new message, but preserving as much original data as possible. We're not able to inject the message back into your Inbox with the original date/time. Ummm, that is not exactly true. If you tell MW to ...

Re: How to catch Spam with variation names

Bouncing remains a really bad idea. It encourages the spammers to attack since they know they have a live email address. I think more than that, most spammers spoof an invalid or somebody else's email address in the spam messages. So bouncing back to the sender sends the message to the bit bucket, ...

Try shortening the pattern. For example, check for messages with vict instead.

Re: How to remove "today" "yesterday" etc

The problem with text posts in forums is "tone of voice" cannot be heard, neither can "body language" or "facial expressions" be seen. I actually go to great effort to avoid emotionally personal replies and instead try to be "matter of fact" - especially in technical discussions. I was not angry at ...

Re: How to remove "today" "yesterday" etc

MailWasher make this line go away - or at least make it optional. Obviously someone thought it was a good idea. It wasn't me though! You seem to be "blaming" Mailwasher but frankly, putting the Received "timestamp" of messages is typical for "all" email handlers. If it was not there in your previou...

Re: How to remove "today" "yesterday" etc

I want a sort by account names only. Just click on the "To" column heading if you want to sort by accounts in alphabetical order. Click again to sort in reverse alphabetical order. Personally, I always sort on the Received column. I want to see which emails in my inbox are the oldest and which are ...

Re: Body of one email appears in the message area of one apparent sender, and vice versa.

Or "were they thinking?" I am sure - but only of "the bottom line" instead of what the consumer needs AND wants. Think how different Windows today would be if they didn't try to jam the Windows Phone UI (Metro UI) down our throats with Windows 8? If they simply took Windows 7, a fantastic OS, and i...

Re: Body of one email appears in the message area of one apparent sender, and vice versa.

I don't like the "Creators" moniker either. The vast majority of Windows users never use their computers to create anything, except maybe an email, Facebook page or Word document. In Microsoft's defense, however, I believe the "developers" at Microsoft have done an amazing job with Windows 10 as it ...

Odd. I don't know how rebooting Windows fixed it, but restarting MW could not. But I am glad it seems to be working now.
