The App Password system will work, are you certain you entered the 16 digit password correct, no spaces etc..

Yeah, the name you give the app key will just be for your reference, so you can call those whatever you like. MailWasher2 etc..

If you go into Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> Advanced >> uncheck the two options to use PIPELINING >> Save.
That should fix this issue you describe,

Under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> Advanced >> if the account is setup as IMAP, have a look at the options on how many days of messages to download, and also the option to Download Read EMail. Yes, you're understanding is correct. MailWasher will store a trained message when you press Wash Mail, so just changing the flag isn't enough. If you uninstall >> answer Yes to keep your data files, so nothing is lost >> then reinstall, that should fix this up.

Under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> Advanced >> you'll see the option there.
