Windows 10 Email Program

Postby Ged Tue Dec 26, 2017 6:21 am

I have the basic Windows Mail and Calendar App. I would like to set it up with MailWasher but settings only gives the choice of Outlook 2016 and Hotmail. When I click, "Use other application" and browse, I cannot find my email app. It doesnt seem to have an exec file anywhere?

How do I hook MailWasher with Windows Mail so that I click the icon and go to my mail app?

You might also want to check whether the executable of your Windows Mail is available at either of the following destinations:—

You could try to re-map your 'Windows Live Mail' path from within MWP through the following:--

'Settings' >>----> 'General Options' >>----> (tick/enable) Launch email application after processing >>----> 'Specify' >>----> 'Use a preconfigured mail client' >>----> (from the dropdown menu,) 'Windows Live Mail' >>----> 'OK'

Unfortunately, only Outlook 2016 and Hotmail are shown on the dropdown.

(If for some strange reasons 'Windows Live Mail' is not present in the dropdown menu, you may tick/enable) >>----> 'Specify a mail client command' (and then manually enter either one of the following paths - preferably the first one):-

    Code: Select all

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail\wlmail.exe

    Code: Select all

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows Live Mail

Windows Mail folder exists among my program files, but it only contains WAB files. (no executable? how strange is that? :crazy ) So when I use the paths suggested above, I get error messages.

The installation directory is C:\Program Files\Windows Mail and C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Mail not C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail or C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail

The executable you want to be looking for inside the Windows Mail directory is WinMail.exe — check out the contents:—
