Hi there,
Is it possible to make MailWashe Pro 6.51 Minimise to the Task Bar instead of the System Tray?
I know it is possible on later versions, but apart from this one issue, this version is fine for me.
Regards,
Phil

Re: Minimise MW6.51 to Task Bar not System Tray
No real reason not to update to 6.5.4 which is the last release of the 6 series as it has a good number of bug fixes. It might have the one you are looking for but it has been too long for me to remember.
I am not a Firetrust employee just a MW user.

One workaround is to pin it to the task-bar and yes, you need to update your MWP to 6.5.4 - check the following download link:-philcoe1963 wrote:Hi there,

Re: Minimise MW6.51 to Task Bar not System Tray
Hi there,
Thanks for your replies. I was unaware of Version 6.54 as every time it checked for updates, the program said it had the latest update but a new version was available, i.e 2011/2012.
I have updated to 6.54 and the options of minimalisation have not changed. How do I "pin it to the Task Bar" please?
Regards,
Phil

Hi there,
This is obviously a Windows 7 ability: However, I only have Vista. Is it possible to do this via the Registry?

Phil

Have not used Vista over a protracted period - can you try holding down the shift key while right clicking your MWP V6 shortcut icon, instead (it may most probably reside on your desktop.) You can then try to find out whether the 'Pin to Taskbar' option appears in your Vista right-click-context-menu, as follows:-

Re: Minimise MW6.51 to Task Bar not System Tray
Hi all,
I think the meaning of my problem has gotten lost. I have the program Icon in my start menu and also on my Quick Launch bar. I have no problems accessing or starting the program at all.
The problem I DO have, is that when minimised, it shrinks to the System Tray and NOT the Task Bar. I WANT THE PROGRAM TO MINIMISE TO THE TASK BAR ONLY. I know that this option is available in later versions of MailWasher Pro, I was wondering if it is possible to MAKE this happen in 6.54 please.
Regards,
Phil

What was illustrated, though is just a workaround which may/may not work in Vista (then again, if you don't try it - we'll never know.)

Nope, the meaning of your problem is not lost - did you bother to read / try out the suggestion from my previous postphilcoe1963 wrote:I think the meaning of my problem has gotten lost.
Pin to Taskbar is an attempt to address exactly that issue.philcoe1963 wrote:The problem I DO have, is that when minimised, it shrinks to the System Tray and NOT the Task Bar.

Re: Minimise MW6.51 to Task Bar not System Tray
Hi there,
Yes, I did try the above as requested. The only "pinning" option I have is to the Start Menu.
I looked online at this pinning option, and it seems that it's only purpose is to act as a Quick Launch option, which I demonstrated in my Screen Shot.
Looks like I'll just have to live with the problem. It's not a major one, but when I minimise everything to look at athe Desktop, the order of Tasks is broken because Mailwasher disappears to the System Tray.

Phil
