Mailwasher won't talk to IE!
I've been using MW since 2005, but after a recent re-install of XP I have a problem. MW will receive mail but it will not 'send ' my mail yo Outlook Express. I am currently having to check whether I want the mail or not in advance with MW then open Outlook Express. I'm using Mailwasher pro but just as a test I tried the free version of the new MW and it's just the same. I've done everything I can think of to test OE and there appears to be nothing wrong with it. In every other respect it's working perfectly. They just won't 'talk' to each other! Any ideas?

MWP is not supposed to send mails to Outlook Express. Mails flow into Outlook Express directly from the email server and not through MWP.pyanaman wrote:MW will receive mail but it will not 'send ' my mail yo Outlook Express.
Now, that's exactly how it's supposed to be done.pyanaman wrote:I am currently having to check whether I want the mail or not in advance with MW then open Outlook Express.

Well it's funny that it's been working as I described for 5 years! MW gets the mail; I mark those for delete then process mail; click to open OE and there is the mail that I wanted to keep, and the mail has gone from MW. If that isn't what's supposed to happen my PC must have been performing miracles.

I'm a firm believer in miracles, but - MWP has no role in that belief.
I think your issue is that after washing the mails your MWP is unable to run Outlook Express due to a misconfiguration. Check the following posts, they might possibly help:-

ps:-
Just ensure you select your email client - Outlook Express.

I think the path to the Outlook Express executable must be as follows:-
C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe
C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe

Re: Mailwasher won't talk to IE!
Checked everything thoroughly ..... again! Clicked the path and the preconfigured mail client was Outlook Express but pressing 'test' brought up 'Outlook'. so in ' Specify a mail client command' I put 'C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe /mail' Pressed 'test' to check it was correct and, sure enough, it fired up OE. So I sent myself a test email. MW received it. No need to process mail as I was keeping it. Clicked on 'Mail Program' and OE sprung to life, but no mail.

OK, did a reinstall of MW. Everything went as it should. I double checked that 'Launch email after after processing' was ticked, and I checked to see that the specified application was OE. Did a test which was fine. So went through the usual routine and sent myself a test message. Hit 'Check Mail' in MW and there was the test mail. Clicked on Mail Program and IE fired up ...but no email.

Need to also add here that the test mails you send to yourself through Outlook Express might probably not be accurately reflected. To check whether your Outlook Express settings are correct you need to judge by 3rd party mails.

Good to see your MWP is now triggering off your Outlook Express, as desired by you.pyanaman wrote:Hit 'Check Mail' in MW and there was the test mail. Clicked on Mail Program and IE fired up ...but no email.

Hmm. It appears that 'Outlook Express was 'installed incorrectly'. I've tried to repair it with no success. Is there any way of reinstalling OE without the pain of reinstalling XP?........ and all my programmes and shortcuts
