MW processes to Thunderbird OK but mail not downloaded

Hello all:

Weird new behavior using MW Pro 6.5.4 and Thunderbird. (Win 7 Pro)

Up to a few days ago, upon pressing "process mail", MW would launch TB and mail would automatically download just fine.

Now, MW launches TB (after pressing "process mail") but mail is not downloaded until the "get mail" button is pressed in TB.

Not a huge issue, but adds a new step to the process.

No changes made in MW, but I do confess to having installed plug-ins into TB. Tried disabling all plug-ins, but the issue persists. To my best recollection, all TB parameters remain unchanged.

Any ideas out there?

Many thanks in advance...

A thunderbird setting likely did get changed, how I hesitate to guess. You had "check mail on startup" set before and now you don't, check it again and you'll be back where you were.

Of course having that happen will result in your thunderbird fetching all your spam if it is started by any other application so it isn't recommended.

My suggestion is to either leave things as they are and click the check button manually or search here for autoit and let it press the button for you.

As stan has mentioned one should never allow one's default e-mail client to check mails at startup. However, if for some reason you would like to configure your Thunderbird as such - check out the following illustration:-

Many, many thanks!

You rule :bow

I did as you suggested and bam! everything works perfectly.

I used to consider myself rather computer savvy, but am now proven wrong after overlooking the obvious.

As to the warning, yes I get the idea that if anything else launches TB the spam comes in.

My setup is that MW is the my one and only (and by far the best) application for checking mail and I have FF set to not open mail-to links.

Ever since I started using Mail Washer, spam is something that happens to other people.

Thanks again...
