what should I do?

That's a lot of msgs to process in one shot. Perhaps wait until 1000 or so have been downloaded and then stop, check msgs, and process them. Repeat for each batch of 1000 msgs until the bulk of spam has been deleted. After one final check, only then download msgs to your client.
