Registered Benign Errors

Hi,
My Benign has suddenly started coughing tonight. Is it my install or my ISPs mail servers?
I'm using Vista Home Premium with SP2.
I get popups and a major error popup says:
"An internal error has occurred while communicating with the mail client (EIdNotConnected: Not Connected). Please contact technical support with a full description of the problem."
It appeared to be working fine up until a few minutes ago.
