Hi all,
I bought the program several years ago. Its latest version dated from 2006 and although the program seems to work well on XP SP3 and is told to be usible on vista, is an upcoming version planned in 2009 ?

Re: Wha's new about Benign
What we intend to do is write a new spam filtering program, this won't replace MailWasher Pro as that is currently being rewritten.
The new spam filtering program (currently just referred to MailWasher Desktop) will be one that integrates better into the email program and intercept messages as they reach your machine. While we have no intention to do a new version of Benign, we do intend to take the Benign filtering and incorporate it into this MailWasher Desktop.

In fact, this new upcoming mailwasher desktop, will be a new name for a new Benign version or completely something else ?rusticdog wrote:What we intend to do is write a new spam filtering program, this won't replace MailWasher Pro as that is currently being rewritten.

Re: Wha's new about Benign
I don't mean to be so bold as to put words into RD's mouth, but let me predict what he would say.
The desktop version (what has been referred to previously as the proxy version (or maybe server version?) will allow MWP to intercept msgs and not only confirm any as being spam but ALSO confirm any as being legit. In particular this means that you could let your email program poll for msgs without fear that spam would sneak through. In fact if you can tweak MWP tools appropriately, you might not have to visit MWP as frequently to deal with any msgs MWP doesn't know how to dispense with.
OK so now MWP is intercepting legit msgs and passing them on to your client. But what about any that contain sneaky tricks that reveal personal details to marketing folks? Well as you know, that's what B9 deals with by intercepting msgs between the server and your client. But now MWP is intercepting msgs so it's either a case of chaining MWP and B9 or just combining them into one program. The latter approach is a lot less subject to fat finger problems ... plus gray areas such as marketing tricks that are used by legit companies are dealt with, something a lot of folks seem to forget about ... or just decide to classify as spam.
