You're seeing this in Firefox aren't you - try to browse the same sites (where you hear those funny sounds) with Internet Explorer, you probably wont hear them.
Confirm the above and we'll tell you how to get it resolved.

Re: TuneUp utilities
Run your TuneUp installer again - it should display the option to repair your corrupt installation with fresh files.

You're welcome - the cursor should be fine after a reboot.

Re: TuneUp utilities
You don't need to pay for it again - just check your inbox for (around the date) the order was placed and you should find your product key which needs to be only entered into the trial installation (which incidentally come fully functional even during the evaluation stage.)

Re: TuneUp utilities
Can you navigate to your services and disable all TuneUp related services - except 'TuneUp Theme Extension.'
Reboot and report whether the problems persist.

Re: TuneUp utilities
Unfortunately, you're on XP - I'm running Windows 7. Nonetheless, running the following command should bring up your services.
Code: Select all
services.msc

Re: TuneUp utilities
Yup, this is the one - you got to disable this one before rebooting to confirm your issues.Buckyg wrote:The only TuneUp related sevices I see is TuneUp Utilities.
Please leave this one alone - otherwise, it will cause you grief.Buckyg wrote: Right above it is Themes and it says it is, Provides User Experience Theme Management

Right, you need not delete - just disable.Buckyg wrote:There is no option to delete it, all I could do is STOP it, which I did and rebooted. Still same problems.
What this confirms is that your problems are not related to TuneUp Utilities - it's something else. Unfortunately, I'm done for the day - it's past midnight this side of the Continent (got to get myself some shut-eye.) Hope somebody helps you out . . . . . in the meantime.Buckyg wrote:Still same problems.

Hey, thanks for posting back the solution here - we're glad you overcame your issue.
Edit:-
As per your preference, you may also restore the TuneUp Utilities services back to 'automatic' if you wish to.
