And if you ran CCleaner or Windows' own Disk Cleanup, they would probably find a different number of files too. It just all depends on what the program developer calls "temporary". For a really aggressive cleaning of temporary files, try TFC by Oldtimer.

TuneUp Utilities is good for windows tweaking - it's not a specialist where cleanup of 'temporary internet files' is concerned. :)

I personally don't like anything more aggressive than Windows' own Disk Cleanup or CCleaner unless I am troubleshooting possible malware infestation problems, or when free disk space is extremely low, all the user installed programs not needed have already been uninstalled, and a new hard drive is not in the current budget. That said, if I am cleaning to free up critically needed disk space, all the cleaning in the world is mostly just a temporary fix and another drive should be installed as soon as possible.

I generally stick with CCleaner for my personal systems because it allows me to select which cookies I want to keep. I like that because I don't have to re-enter my site credentials for all the sites I visit regularly after every time I purge my system of clutter.

There is also a built in disk cleanup located under accessories. It will remove those temporary internet files and also memory dump errors. It really isn't necessary to do though, unless you are low on disk space.

Ummm, note I referred to "Windows' own Disk Cleanup" in the post above, and sorry, but you are incorrect when you say it is not necessary unless low on disk space. Though low disk space is certainly a good reason to rid the system of clutter, periodically cleaning out the 1000s of temporary Internet files also improves malware scanning times and vastly improves defragging efficiency.
