Hi ALL,
I signed up to mailwahser on trial 3 weeks ago and seem to be getting more spam.
It also hits me in a rush around similar time slots.
I am using spam cop and have been bouncing emails.
Should I stop bouncing emails or using spam cop and just delete before they reach my system.
I get the usual porn but I am getting lots of banking spam youtube nigeria type stuff.
i ahve thought of chanign email address because it is dominating my inbox.
I ahve over the past 3 months unsubscribed from lots of sites where I used to get news letters and the like hoping this might help.
any help appreciated.

Don't bounce. All you are doing is attracting more spammers.

that seems to eb the consensus don't add to the traffic.

You did not state what version of Mailwasher you are using but if you are using Mailwasher 2012 V 1.20.0 it will take about 200 emails for learning purposes. It does not pick up every spam from scratch but it will 'learn' as you keep using it. Just check this link http://forum.firetrust.com/viewforum.php?f=50

Using spamcop.net can help, not an instant fix but over time it seems to move the professional spammers away from your account.

If you are using the 2012 MW you can set up two reporting icons to spamcop, one for full reports and one for quick reports and use whichever one is most suitable for each spam to save some time and reporting effort. You might want to report to other services too, Knujon is a good one since it requires only a single click.

According to me, there is no reason to increase spam, after using mail washer.. Its my personal experience..
