Favorite forums?

Is there a way to pick just a few forums to display and hide the ones you don't want to follow? Not a big deal yet but as the site grows it might be handy to have on hand.

To the best of my knowledge and googling ability, there is nothing for PHPBB3 that can do this.

Certainly if we come across anything though that might allow for this we'll take a look.

Since you can subscribe to an entire forum, you don't actually have to visit the main forum -- you can get notified about all new posts to the forums you're interested in.

It could be done using RSS feeds per forum....

Nah, I'm an old fuddy-duddy.

Don't want anything more cluttering up my e-mail with notifications and after fooling with RSS for a while on several sites I decided it wasn't for me either.

Sooner or later I'm gonna read the manual on greasemonkey and see what it can do for me on several sites that aren't quite what I like. :-)

Have you tried Sage? Sits at the LHS of the browser as a separate pane and can be used to pull up unread posts. No email is involved.

Sage and a couple stand alone readers, just not something I care for.
