Two things RE: the Notifications:

(1) There seems to be an anomaly (like Sidewinder said) about the Notifications but for me I notice it with the Counter ...
NotificationsAnomaly.png
NotificationsAnomaly.png (173.13 KiB) Viewed 7745 times
(2) The "Notifications" Menu doesn't always disappear when the User clicks someplace else on the screen. There are times when the User (or at least me anyway) has to re-click the Button before it'll disappear, :crazy thus it's behavior is erratic. :thumbsdown :facepalm

WRT the other Buttons ...
  • The "Private Messages" button seems to work as advertised; and
  • The User Name Menu also seems to work OK.

Not so fast there Tonto!! :nono :nono Doesn't work for ME and I suspect the others. :scratch
LoL . . . . . . all these illustrations that I'm posting are (ATM) effective only on my system — they are meant as a mere reference-point to facilitate the Admins in making global changes at the root source as per the preference of the majority (not as per mine — my tweaks are just a visual indication of the potential.) :D

True enough but they sometimes add to the confusion instead of Clarifying the Issue. :facepalm :crazy :rant :devil :devil

For instance because you jigger your own display, you see things one way (i.e. your preferences) while everybody else sees something TOTALLY Different! (i.e. The Board Defaults per RD) which is why you needed me to supply you with SC's yesterday before you saw all the whitespace I was complaining about. :facepalm :facepalm :crazy :crazy

Confusion is THE word in a nutshell — just couldn't wait for Admins. to fix it.

Besides, the blinding white all over the place was another motivation — would be a PITA to be transfixed with this for the rest of our posting days. :yuck

I must say I don't like the new forums at all and it was a big shock to the system when they suddenly appeared the other day with no indication of what had happened (because this thread was hidden). The comments on here cover some of my issues but:
1. No immediate indication of what boards contain new messages other than hovering over the board title. When within individual boards the only indication is a right arrow against those postings with new posts.
2. In the Mailwasher board there are loads of stickies at the top that I have to scroll through to get to non-stickied ones. The sticky marker is not prominent, nor is there any clear boundary between them and normal posts.

I need to come to the forums, quickly see if there are any new posts, get to them, then go elsewhere. We are a long way from that situation at the moment. I suspect I will be coming here very rarely nowadays.

The Active and Inactive tabs resurrected in compliance to the Board theme:—

Made some changes to escape from the blinding white stretches all across the avatar strip:—
  • Introduced Avatar & text background colors which blend into the white background.
  • Centered avatars.
  • Curved the avatar corners
  • Centered the text under avatars.

Managed to segregate post and signature with a clear defining line between them — all dividers and defining colors are in keeping with the Board theme.

Made the following little tweaks:—
  • Centered the title, and
  • Changed the typeface to a much better looking one.

Just pimped the Preview Pane:—
  • Centered the Title.
  • Changed the Title Typeface.
  • Re-colored the Titlebar.
  • Re-colored the Titlebar Font.
  • Stripped-off unnecessary space from the Posting Area (body.)
  • Stripped-off unnecessary space from the Signature.

These SC's were taken from the Mailwasher Pro 7 Forum but the problem(s) exists throughout the site.

(1) There is inconsistent use of a LOCK Icon to indicate a LOCKED Topic.
(2) There is also Inconsistent use of STAR Icons to indicate LOCKED Topics and READ/UNREAD Posts within Topics. Users must hover over the Stars to tell the difference! Very Confusing!!!
(3) Additionally, since Moderators CAN post in LOCKED Topics, there needs to be two versions of the LOCK Icons as well; Again, READ/UNREAD Posts but in LOCKED Topics.

LOCKED Topic Icons:
