Speaking of RSS feeds is that new system admin up to speed yet? When will he have the time to sort the wacky behaviour of the RSS feeds here?

...mmmm....we may have to find another RSS module to install, though we also need to update PHPBB first as well

I've not noticed any problems, but I only use the FF RSS feeder, will chat to sys admin tomorrow

Any improvement since we moved to PHPBB 3.0.4 which we did on the weekend ?

I haven't noticed any difference - some forums always report posts as unread even though I've invariably already read them. Also, many (most?) topics don't land on the post I point to. I'm using FF 3.0.5 and the latest update to the Sage newsreader extension and this is the only site at which I'm having these problems.

OK, will do some digging and find another RSS module. As we run a ProstGres database rather than SQL I think whatever mod we choose will take some jiggery pokery

So did your new admin finally get some time to fix to this? Suddenly RSS seems to be working as it should.

Yeah, really weird then. Still working as it should ... not that I'm complaining.

You know what the RSS feed is for the forums Ike, Firefox isn't seeing it and I can't find a link anywhere....

Hmmm ... I don't see it now either (an RSS graphic in the link address bar as I recall). However there is a feed per forum. Based on my saved settings for Sage, for instance for the General Technical Help forum, the 'Feed Location' is http://forum.firetrust.com/generate_fee ... f%5B%5D=31 while the 'Site Location' is http://forum.firetrust.com/viewforum.php?f=31

BTW, while I last reported that the feeds are working, I'll put "working" in quotes. The feeds seem to "work" inconsistently and "work" differently depending on the forum. For instance the 'MWP Troubleshooting and Help' forum never shows msgs already read as such while the 'MWP Beta Testing' forum sometimes shows msgs as read but other times it does so. Also, while most of the time the browser now lands on selected msgs, sometimes it doesn't. No rhyme or reason that I can discern.

I have no idea why the RSS imagery is missing....I can't see the RSS button in the old theme either.....but the image is still present

These RSS feeds are STILL not working up to snuff. They've been acting strangely for a long time now; sometimes almost working correctly ... in some forums. So when is your sys admin going to have a chance to fix this? Surely he's up to speed by now and could spare a couple of hours to fix this issue.

Will take a gander round at some of the other mods and see if we can improve things.

There's no update to our module, the author has abandoned it some time ago.
As we use a PostGres database for the forums, it relies on the author properly supporting the PHPBB database abstraction layer, of which is hard to find any who bother to test it.

Looking at one candidate now, will see what happens.....
