Tried that, I even went under the security tab and gave full permissions to all the users in the list, I even tried running it in compatibility mode for Win7 (which is what I had before Win10 and it ran fine under that)...a no go all around....is there some kind of registry hack (value) that I can add ?

Worth a shot, have attached.

Run the .REG file and answer Yes to import into the Windows Registry.

This creates a value in the Startup Run section.

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"MailWasherPro"="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Firetrust\\MailWasher\\MailWasherPro.exe\""

Neither, which makes me feel like I'm missing something simple.

Under Settings >> General >> Application >> Start MailWasher Minimised is not checked ? If so, uncheck >> Save.

Also next time you reboot, before you fire up MailWasher, can you right click on the taskbar >> select Task Manager >> be sure there is no MailWasher listed at all under the Processes tab.

OK.

What if you add another program shortcut to C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Does that start all OK on startup and it's just MailWasher that won't ?

Tried that a couple of days ago and everything started just fine...it seems MailWasher is the only culprit.

I've been told the usual reason it wont load on startup is that MWPro is set to run as admin from either the shortcut in the startup folder, or the programs .exe file itself...
Locate and right click on these, click Properties, and ensure that nothing is ticked under the Compatibility tab.

So that's the main MailWasherPro.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Firetrust\MailWasher
And any shortcut in the startup folder mentioned above.

OMG...I fixed it...this is how (in case it helps anyone else). First I uninstalled the app with Revo and totally removed every trace of it from the puter...I then installed it again...and once agin it would not start on boot....so I manually started it and checked the startup tab in a 3rd party startup program that I use (WinPatrol)...this time around there was one listing for the app and it was "C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\FIRETRUST\MAILWASHER\MAILWASHERPRO.EXE" and it was marked as disabled, tried to enable it and it would not...so I added a startup entry pointing to the Mailwasher.exe....and whamo...it worked !!!! Don't know how...but it worked !!!!
Thank you very very much rusticdog for sticking with me and trying your darnedest to get things right....your the best bro !!!!!
