Ideally, there would have been a non-profit corporation created with staff members forming the board of directors and a few paid people to make sure the grunt work maintenance is done and to raise money, pay bills, etc., but they were waiting for this established nonprofit to take over, so they never started that process themselves.
That's what I heard a few months ago, that it would "stay in the family", so to speak. I'm still trying to assess what this really means. The PIRT e-mail address is apparently still working according to CentralOps.net, but where does it go? As far as I know, that service was unique to CC. There are other HijackThis forums, but I don't know of any PIRT/SIRT/MIRT sites. I believe they developed that software, but I don't know if they shared it, or are willing to. It would be a tragic loss if those services can't be restarted, and restarted soon.
I've read a few forums, and the general reaction I've seen has been shock. I haven't seen much other activity, but what can we do? I asked Patermann (the guy that posted the CC Folding stats on the wiki) to post them in our forum for now, but I'm concerned about people just finding other alternatives. It isn't going to take long, and once they're gone, they're gone. << poet, sorry.

*burp*.
