"If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. I'd type a little faster." - Isaac Asimov

"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." - Benjamin Franklin

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
Mark Twain

All generalizations are false, including this one.

I also like Irish sayings:

An Irishman's Philosophy

In life, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, there is nothing to worry about,

But if you die, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you will go to heaven or hell.
If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.

And if you go to hell, you’ll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends
You won’t have time to worry!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are only three kinds of Irish men who can't understand women— young men, old men, and men of middle age.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are good ships, and there are wood ships, the ships that sail the sea.

But the best ships are friendships, and may they always be. ;)

Another favorite of mine, Albert Einstein:

*Everything that can be counted does not necessarily count; everything that counts cannot necessarily be counted.

*Force always attracts men of low morality.

*I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

*It should be possible to explain the laws of physics to a barmaid.

*Information is not knowledge.

*Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

*Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Do you ever wonder about those people who spend $2.00 a piece on those little bottles of Evian water? Spelled backward isn't it just _ _ _ _ _?

Isn't making a smoking section in a restaurant like making a peeing section in a swimming pool?

If 4 out of 5 people suffer from diarrhoea... does that mean that one in five enjoys it? :barf

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why do croutons come in airtight packages? Aren't they just stale bread to begin with?

If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for? :dunno

I dream of a better tomorrow... where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned

**********************

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poke me in the ribs and cackle, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

I wanted to become an atheist but I gave it up. They have no holidays.

From my son in high school chemistry: Why don't electrons slow down over time, or is an atom a perpetual motion machine?

~A few thoughts about....money~
(hey, I'm an MBA type guy)

Robert Frost
A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain.

Samuel Butler
Friendship is like money, easier made than kept.

Norman Vincent Peale
Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.

Chester L. Karrass
In business, you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.

Gee, nobody posts here much. By the time somebody new shows up your joke is an archive.
Duct tape is like the Force, it has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together. :mrgreen:

Yeah, I guess we have to "stick" together.

Time for a few thoughts to liven things up a bit......

What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
- Oscar Wilde

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written.
- Oscar Wilde

“You are not responsible
for what people think about you.
But you are responsible for
what you give them to think about you.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“All our dreams can come true,
if we have the courage to pursue them.”

~ Walt Disney

A few thoughts about a fool and his money....or just having some fun, depending on your viewpoint (or luck). :D :shock: :gag

A weekend in Vegas without gambling and drinking is just like being a born-again Christian.

I like to play blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling. I'm addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.

Italians come to ruin most generally in three ways, women, gambling, and farming. My family chose the slowest one. - Pope John XXIII

Part of it went on gambling, and part of it went on women. The rest I spent foolishly. - George Raft

There is no gambling like politics. - Benjamin Disraeli
