CHICAGO (AP) - Federal authorities in Chicago say they've shut down one of the largest spam e-mail operations in the world. <snip> New Zealand.
Gotta snip to keep AP from having a cow...
Gotta find the full story once they release it and see who in NZ was helping.

Re: New Zealand helps shut down spammer
This is huge -- these folks are the current ROKSO #1 spammers, responsible for Megadick, VPXL, MaxGain+, HerbalKing, PowerEnlarge, Target Pharmacy, Canadian Healthcare (not Canadian Health&Care Mall), King Replica, Manster, ManXL, Elite Herbal, Diamond Replicas, Prestige Replicas, ED Pill Store, Extra Time, Wondercum, Spur-M, Personal Pussy, VigraMax, Fat Blaster, Hoodia, Exquisite Footwear & Bags, etc. They send not only the largest number of spam messages for a massive number of identical websites, it's some of the most offensive spam to show up in your inbox.
They send their penile enlargement crap to the postmaster address for a girl scout troop website I administer (so much for giving the girls the chance to take more responsibility there ) It's not like their bot accidentally harvested it -- it doesn't appear anywhere on the web. But knowing that such a website exists, they know that the postmaster@ address must be able to receive mail.
They are tied in with Tulip Labs as brought out in a BBC investigative report. The blogger at spaminmyinbox traced one of their orders there as well, and they hit him with a SLAPP suit to force him to remove references to the connection until the suit is settled. There are posts popping up all over from law enforcement as well as excited antis:

Their spam is still showing up, but all the sites are timing out right now. Their affiliates seem to have switched over to Canadian Health&Care Mall.

Good news all round. The Opt-In Laws are still fresh and I bet Internal Affairs was very keen on getting a prosecution to prove the point.

Absolutely -- Shane Atkinson is in NZ, Lance Atkinson is in Australia, and Jody Smith is in the US.Pierre wrote:Don't know if this is related as well.

We need a topic in each forum "Post spam here" that stays at the first position so the spammers will use it and the rest of us can ignore it.
