We're all good and safe + families and will be up and running proper in a few days.
I don't doubt you'll be back pretty quick resource-wise but as you say ...rusticdog wrote:I think you'll find we'll be back a lot sooner. As it is our core systems aren't in Christchurch, so we haven't lost anything that makes the wheels turn, we've got enough machines and equipment to get guys on board, many of the staff already were setup to work from home as we often did so out of convenience.
So technically we're up and running now, just not mentally...that'll take a few days just to get into the right head space.
I'll 2nd that idea!Sidewinder wrote:I'm sure it's hard to try and get to a new normal with all of the aftershocks that keep the shake, rattle and roll going on.
It's hard to imagine all the aftershocks. I've been monitoring here and the list just goes on and on.

RE: The Gougers - keep a list of those who are preying on all the misery and as thing get back to a new normal mount a campaign to boycott them all and put them out of business for good. Real scum bags.
That IS good news. So relieved to hear all OK.Sidewinder wrote:Another of our beta testers just received an email from Nick and all from FT are OK but obviously shaken up. Building heavily damaged.
Curiosity is killing me after looking at these web sites. Does the ground ever stop shaking there? It look like it's nearly perpetual with only the magnitude changing.rusticdog wrote: Sidewinder (and others) this is also a great website for information, it's being fed by GeoNet data. http://quake.crowe.co.nz/QuakeMap/Single/
This website was setup after the September quake, it basically is a Google Maps/Time Lapse showing the quakes, where they were centred and severity etc...you can choose which day to view, hit play and see it run through. The big quake on the 22nd you can see pretty much comes from nowhere then it's all on.

Thanks for the extended narrative of your situation RD. It really helps us understand what the true situation is down there right now.rusticdog wrote:You would think too given the September quake I've have had an emergency kit all ready to go, all I can say is
