MW uses the same method to check Hotmail accounts as Outlook Express, so anyone updating their Hotmail to Windows Live will likely find that OE and MW will no longer work. The new Microsoft implementation for retrieving email from Live/Hotmail isn't documented, so at this stage we haven't shown an interest in supporting the new Microsoft system.
Programs like PopPeeper http://www.poppeeper.com/ though should work I think, where they check Hotmail accounts and convert to POP.
