Some people get Spam...some people don't

I have around 40 - 45 mail users. Since the upgrade to Enterprise there has been a tremendous amount of success and good will from my users because they're not getting as much spam as they were with the old version.

However, (there is always a however). I have one user who gets around 18-30 spam per day, and another who gets 80 per day. Root on the other hand gets 3. Is there anything I can do to help the users who are getting hit?

Hi

Can you make sure these people who are getting lots of spam, that their email addresses are not on the whitelist, or infact make sure that no one in the company has their email address on the whitelist as internal mail is recognized anyway.

Can you let me know if this improves things or if this is not the case?

Thanks

The only white list was an IP white list for a local ISP. (The one I use for personal emails to work) I'm not certain how that got there. But I deleted it.

Not knowing if it's related to this or not. But looking at the log files, I see multiple instances of the following error.

9-17 08:02:02 [1103657904] Error: GrayListingTable::Add - failed - SQLite Error: sqlite3_step returned error code: 19 error message: constraint failed

Can you make sure you're running the latest version 2.73

http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/ma ... r/download

This has many fixes in it and should help here.

Yep, running 2.7.3. I installed that as a replacement to the OSS version.

For the people who are still getting spam, can you please send a sample of their spam to me (zip them up as attachments) to nick.bolton@firetrust.com and we'll take a look at the headers.

Of you can post them here.

Thanks
Nick
