Connect to native.first-alert.net

Well, it's up and running, but I'm not sure if it's doing what it should.

Connect to native.first-alert.net

Thu Jul 15, 2010 5:50 pm

Hi,

I am unable to connect to native.first-alert.net port 4051. I have opened outbound ports 4051 and 4044 (as well as 4050, I got that off a forum).
I tried pinging the native.first-alert.net and www.firetrust.com, both resolve with an IP-address. Telnetting is not possible, I get the usual reply: could not open connection to the host on port 4051: connect failed.

I have gone through the forum to find an answer, but I am not able to get it to connect.

Do I need to specify particular services for the ports? (tcp, ect.)

:help

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

The First Alert service runs on 4050 and 4051 - both are TCP.

If you are unable to connect to these services then it sounds like you have some firewalling in place which will need to be removed.
