Migrate 2003 to 2008

Wed Jun 12, 2013 6:24 am

Hi,

we have been using MWES for around 4 years with SBS2003. Well its time to upgrade and we are going the SBS2008 route.

Any tips for dealing with MWES and the microsoft SBS2008 migrate install. I was thinking it may be best to return exchange to its normal port before migration and then follow the instructions for installing MWES on 2008 when I am happy that exchange has migrated over.
Would it then just be a case of copying files from the 2003 server MWES folder so I can keep white lists users names etc.

Any thoughts/advise would be gratefully received

Hi Adrian

Sorry for the late reply. We should have been notified of this post, but we were not. If you need any help, we can always do a remote login to help.

The most important thing is to keep the MWES.db file, then install it again when you have Exc 2008 running, then stop the MWES service, replace the DB with the earlier copy and restart the service.

Regards
Nick
