Users can't login

I have created accounts for my other users. They can't login. I must be missing something.

Also, one great feature the old mailwasher used to have that I miss is that the system used to mail a quarentine list after so many spams had come in. Is that feature going to come back?

Hi

Just checking you've followed the instructions at http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/ma ... #add_users where you can set up a global user or individual users to login. Can users access the login screen ok?

We're implementing the email digest to send a lit of quarantined email at the moment, along with reporting. So it shouldn't be too far away.

I had set them all up to be global users. Unless I missed something they should still be able to login. Just to be safe, after your post, I made them individual users only able to see their own blocked stuff.

They can get to the login screen, still it says invalid login. I am not sure what I missed in the readme. Its also possible I dorked stuff up making too many global accounts.

My individual account, which starts with the letter a works fine, all others can't login in.

I will try resetting passwords to see what happens.

No luck on resetting passwords as a fix.

Ok, we'll test it here by making multiple global user accounts and see what happens. I'll ask the developers too and get back to you.

We can't find anything wrong here and no one else has reported any problems. Can your users get to the login page? http://your-company-name.com:4044

Would you like us to remotely login and look at it? We'd need you to give us access. You can email me at nick.bolton@firetrust.com with the following along with remote access: (Remote Desktop, Crossloop, etc)

Username ( with admin permissions)
Password
Domain
Server address

Alternatively you can send us the logs (under the installation directory in the logs folder), just change the logging level first.

Windows Registry: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firetrust Limited\mwes"

0 = Full
1 = Partial
2 = Normal
3 = Warnings
4 = Errors

Change to log_level=1

If changed, restart the MailWasher Enterprise Server Service (Go to Start>>Run>>Type 'services.msc' and locate MailWasher Enterprise Server, and restart).

I'll poke around some more and see why they can't login.

They can get to the login screen. It just rejects their login.

If all else fails I'll send you remote login instructions.

Thanks for the patience and help.

Problems solved!

One user had a typo in their name. That one makes me feel a little stupid. :facepalm

After resetting the passwords on the other accounts they started working too. I don't know why, I am sure it is something I did though.

You have a fine product and the support is great.

Thanks again.

If you want to try the daily emailed digest of spam, upgrade to version 2.77 and add this to the registry (win) or mwes.conf (linux). This feature is experimental at the moment

web_hostname=<a valid URL or IP>

# switch on/off digest report (default is off=0)
use_digest_report=1
#create report every x hours
digest_report_time=6

Also required in user admin screen, is a primary email address for each user.
