Suddenly can't log in to same old account

Headline says it all: Suddenly can't log in to same old account.

I can access the email from webmail but I hate their format. I read all my mail in Windows Live Mail. The email address in question is my basic cable rr account that I have used for over 20 years.

I deleted the account and set it up again but no dice.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

It's possible it is just a temporary issue with the server.

Try sending some logs, under Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'as per forum' >> in the Ticket number field enter chris >> Send Logs >> reply back once sent.

You can check yourself under Help >> User Files >> Logs >> open the folder named after todays date >> open the file named MWPapp_<account_name>.log >> scroll down to the very end and look at what the response is after MailWasher sends the password. Sometimes (but not often) the response after the -ERR (error) gives you a reason.

e.g.
11-13-2019 05:10:18.082 Info C: PASS *******
11-13-2019 05:10:21.234 Info S: -ERR failed: Could not determine server

Ok, sent logs. Didn't know you could do that.
There was a reason, said invalid user name or password, that's incorrect, especially after I re-entered all info.

OK, those settings on the account don't look right to me. Though it's not easy trying to figure out the right one either.

From what I can tell, your server address under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> should be mail.brighthouse.com
The username will need to be your full RR email address.

Under Advanced the option to use SSL should be checked.

Thanks, that was fast. Well, I made all those changes -- suddenly all different from what worked yesterday and for 20 years -- and it's all good again now.
