Blacklisted emails keep coming back

Maybe I misunderstand how the blacklist works. From what I read I expect that when I put a certain sender on the black list any future email from that sender should automatically be deleted (my selected option). That is, I should not even see it. But they do come back and are not even marked Blacklist. Do I misunderstand or is there something wrong with my settings?

It won't auto-delete by default.

In MailWasher go into Settings >> Spam Tools >> Blacklist >> click the Options tab >> you'll see an option there for auto-delete >> check that >> Save.

Thought I did, but not checked now. Maybe I didn't Save it. Thanks; if it flips back I'll report.
