Windows Live Mail

Hi All

Not new to "Mail Washer" but very new to the forum.hope I,am on the right section

Just got new computer ,transferred MW over ok ,but I have been using "Windows Live Mail" for many years on the old computer with no problems
but my new system Win 10pro will not let me download "Win Live Mail" now I know win live mail is old hat, so maybe I would try a
different email supplier, but I have no idea how to get rid of my old win live mail from WM and install a new email account.

Couple of things that may make a difference my email is my small biz email, it is now with a hosting company "Easily" this has not been
any problem for 15yrs and that is the same time I have been with WM, and Win live mail, will any of this cause a problem setting up a new
account. not bothered who I setup an account with, anyone any ideas.

Thanks Barry

Hi Barry

Your email account is separate from the programs you use, so you'll be keeping your 'Easily' host and just need to set things up in the new email program you go with.

From what you say MailWasher is checking your email account all OK and everything is working as expected, and it's just that you cannot get Windows Live Mail setup on the new machine to check that same email account ?

I would recommend ThunderBird first as your replacement to Live Mail https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/

Out of the box I'm not a huge fan as the display setup is too 'modern' for my tastes, but with some minor alterations to the display it can look much like the old Live Mail. And it's free.

For setup, looking as the Easily website the details for your accounts are below
Username: Your email address
Incoming/POP/IMAP mail server: mail.easily.uk
Outgoing/SMTP mail server: mail.easily.uk
SMTP Port: 1025
IMAP Port: 143
POP Port: 110

As a question, do you still have access to the old Windows Live Mail ?
Do you know if the account in Windows Live Mail was setup as POP or IMAP ?
