MW and Hotmail same emails same time

My MW is configured to start up when I put my pc on. I go to MW to check what I want to go thru and what is junk etc. I click for MW to load my outlook/hotmail program. The emails are already there. when mhy program opens, along with the JUNK emails. and my hotmail puts good emails into junk folder sometimes too. Really annoying... How to be able to check my emails in MW without the server already loading them in my hotmail program. I think this happened when the microsoft Edge new browser for Edge update was put in.(which I don't like anyway)., and I have been through all the settings several times and still cant fix it. I just had my MW down to fully emitting the blacklisted and junk perfectly and now this... When I click MW to get my hotmail program it does with no problem, but again the emails are already there. I also have to delete them in MW even I did delete them in my hotmail. after reading them. Any one have an idea for a fix for this? Under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> is the Hotmail account set to POP or IMAP at the top ?

In Outlook, if you click File >> it should list your accounts, does it list your Hotmail account as IMAP or Exchange ?
