Erasing email that was already deleted in email program

I have MailWasher Pro on my Windows 10 computer. 

On my Samsung S9 note android phone, when I delete email and later [maybe even a few days pass] open MailWasher Pro on my Windows 10 computer, the emails deleted from the phone are still listed in MailWasher. 

Why is this? It can get tedious deleting them again in MailWasher. 

I love MailWasher and have been using it for years, but this is a problem. 

Can you help me with this problem?

Hi Ellen

Do you know if your Android is setup to access the email account using POP or IMAP ?
At a guess it will be set to IMAP as this is a common default choice. If MailWasher was using POP to access the account it's possible that emails deleted via IMAP, still show in the POP inbox. A quick change to MailWasher to try using IMAP should test that, under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> change the server type at the top >> Save >> hopefully it connects all OK.
