I just downloaded the free version of 7.12.29. I had been a Mailwasher user many years ago, but haven't used it for some time. I decided to try it again on a new computer.
Setup was very easy - so far so good. However, despite having set Startup to "none", Mailwasher starts automatically whenever I start Windows. I do not want this. How can it be prevented, other than by uninstalling Mailwasher?

Do you have Fast Start-up enabled? See https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disa ... st-startup
If I remember correctly, if Fast Start-up is enabled and you shutdown Windows with MailWasher running, Windows will start MailWasher automatically.

When I turned the computer on this morning, sure enough, Mailwasher started on its own, when I booted up.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it. I turned off Fast Startup, and I also made sure that Mailwasher was not running when I shut the machine down.ataraxy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 10:12 pmDo you have Fast Start-up enabled? See https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disa ... st-startup

Start up shortcuts are stored in the following locations:
1. In Windows Explorer, enter %appdata% in the address bar (press <F4> to access if you're unsure what that is), then navigate within that location to Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
2. In Windows Explorer, enter %programdata% in the address bar, then navigate within that location to Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
If there is a shortcut to MailWasher in either of those locations, delete it.
