Email isn't deleted on server

Something odd is happening.

I have a mail server on a cPanel shared hosting. I list its mails on MailWasher and delete some as usual, using POP3.

Now I'm downloading some old emails to Thunderbird (POP3 too) because I want them stored permanently and don't need them on the server. But those emails I had deleted on MailWasher are coming back on Thunderbird.

I logged on webmail and I also see emails I had deleted.

The oddest part is that emails downloaded by Thunderbird disappear from webmail, but they remain listed on MailWasher! I closed and reopened it, retrieved all emails again and they are still there.

It's as if MailWasher is using a cached or parallel server. Emails deleted on it remain on webmail and Thunderbird, while emails download on Thunderbird are removed from webmail but remain on MailWasher. How come this be happening?

When a new email arrives, it appears immediately on MailWasher.

Try first removing the account from MailWasher under Settings >> Accounts >> restart the program >> add the account back in.

I take it all the settings are the same, username etc...nothing different between the TB setup and MailWasher ?
