Check for update is blocked
I was under the impression that MWP update checking was automatic, but when I checked for an update today (because it seemed like a long time since installing one) the message I got back was that I was blocked or access denied or something similar. So I just plain old downloaded the installer and received v7.12.125 which is a lot of versions, or a few at least, past 7.12.97 that I was on. I know you'll ask and I'm not blocking anything to do with MWP or Firetrust afaict, but maybe there's something I've missed along the way.

I just searched through my MWP preferences and found that the download folder was incorrect (i.e. doesn't exist on this machine). That would be because the MWP backup I used was from my previous laptop and, of course the user and folder details are a tad different on this new Win11 one. Is it likely that some other machine-specific details might be incorrect? I'm looking but not seeing

Great, glad to hear you got that resolved, however no, all other user files are under the Help>>User Files folder which is what is backed up/restored via File>>Export/Import, so yes, you should be fine there now.....
