MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 -- Yahoo POP3 is NOT working even after clicking on NEW "Sign in with Yahoo" button under "Settings"........
I just updated to the new version...MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 . This new version is NOT working (Yahoo POP3), whereas yesterday the older version I had worked just fine.
MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 failed to Login to Yahoo POP3 webmail.
So I went to Settings and noticed there is a NEW Button... "Sign in with Yahoo"
I clicked on this button which led me to a special Yahoo Login Page.
I logged in OK.
After logging OK, I was led to a second special Yahoo page where I had to agree to allow Mailwasher Pro to access my online email account.
I clicked AGREE, MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 continued to NOT login to Yahoo POP3.
I then tried clicking on the new "Sign in with Yahoo" button in Setup multiple times. At this point, I was NOT required to re-enter my login credentials (Yahoo recognized I was already logged in), Instead I was asked to click on Yahoo's AGREE button to allow MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 to login into my Yahoo online email account.\
Observation................:
It appears Yahoo is not recognizing my clicking on its AGREE button.
QUESTION..........:
Is there a BUG in Yahoo AGREE software or is there an issue with something else????

Gi,
OK, I restarted my computer (Win10 - 22H2).
The same thing is happening......
-- MWPro starts at bootup and automatically logins
-- Login Failed
-- in Settings, I click on "Accounts", "incoming", and then click "Sign in with Yahoo" button
-- A browser window pops open with "Yahoo.com/xxxxxxxx" (a login page).
--.....- At the top of this login page are the words "QAUTH Authentication ("my ATT Email Address")"
-- I login with my login credentials
-- This popup Yahoo login windows changes to asking me if I AGREE to allowing MWPro login to the Data in my Yahoo account.
-- I click on AGREE and a very short time messages appears (credentials check) .
-- The Yahoo popup window is closed
-- I then click on MWPro "inbox", then "Check Mail".... "Failed to login to POP3 server"
When I click "Sign in with Yahoo" button once again (a Second Time). ............:
-- Now Yahoo recognizes I am LOGINed, by writing "Hi, "my ATT email address""
-- I click on AGREE and a very short time messages appears (credentials check) .
-- The Yahoo popup window is closed
-- I then click on MWPro "inbox", then "Check Mail".... "Failed to login to POP3 server"
MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 is still NOT working.
I still have the same Observation................:
It appears Yahoo is not recognizing my clicking on its AGREE button.

There is probably an error in the code, as he treats yahoo pop3 now as imap and ask
for oauth instead of password. this is only happening for yahoo accounts, for other
providers everything normal. Very strange.

Currently I am having the same issue, but with another email account.
I have two email accounts that I check.
The first is to an AT&T account. That does not seem to get any incoming reads of emails.
The second is to a Charter account.
The event log seems to report that the Charter account was successfully accessed, with the Fetching & filtering complete.
The AT&T account has a failed to log into POP3 server error.
I can access all of my email accounts through Outlook.

Yes, if the sign in with Yahoo option is not working for you, (we're looking into this now as we have several users reporting this) the other option for the meantime is to use SSL from the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" button and use a yahoo app password instead of your Yahoo password....
Yes, 'usually' you just setup like the below screenshot shows, click Save, and the Yahoo mail server asks you to login to allow MW access, however, as you can see from the below, Yahoo is currently saying it is unavailable for some unknown reason....
Log into your Yahoo account here:
https://login.yahoo.com/
Click on person icon and then click on Account Info.
Go to Account Security and click on "Manage app passwords".
Click on "Select your app". Choose Other app. Enter name for your application which is Mailwasher. Click on generate.
Copy the password to clipboard and paste it into password field in Mailwasher under Settings>>Accounts>>Click the account>>Incoming tab.
Then click Advanced on that Incoming tab and select SSL/TLS (instead of OAUTH) and click Save.
You should also write it down to a text file for safekeeping.

Gi, thank you for responding.
In your explanation copied just above, you asked me to delete my ATT account and then to setup it up once again. (NOTE: ATT uses Yahoo online Web mail software to check one's ATT account mail online.)
Based on my many years of past experience with my ATT email, setting up an ATT email account is Not as simple as your explanation implies.
Over the decades, ATT has changed the required settings (server Port Numbers, etc.) without notifying me, which meant I was not able to read my email until I phoned ATT Email Support and spent 30 minutes to an hour on the phone.
Unfortunately and frankly, I do not have time to be your software debugger. The previous version of MWPro was working perfectly.
Since this new version is NOT Working correctly yet, I would like to see a new Software Update of MW (a roll back to the previous working version) so I can continue using MW.
Thanks.

Re: MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 -- Yahoo POP3 is NOT working even after clicking on NEW "Sign in with Yahoo" button
Hey all. Hadn't used MWP in a while, and was just setting it up again after spam getting stupider.
The 7.12.173 installer imported all my accounts from Thunderbird, and worked fine for all accounts after running through a few sign-in hoops.
My Yahoo account was working properly initially, as well, but then began kicking me over to the login screen again after a few starts of MWP.
Login fails to complete with this message:
I've tried setting the Security connection to SSL, but it reverts to OAUTH after saving settings.
The Sign in with Yahoo button does not revert to the regular password field, where I could use a password or an app password.
Here's a snip of the account's log file. Looks like OAUTH token issue?
Was looking for cache to clear...
The Yahoo login launches in a browser window within MWP, but not sure whether it's an instance of my default browser or internal to MWP. Curiously, the account username is populated at the Yahoo login prompt, so I'm wondering whether MWP is passing this as a convenience, or whether it's a cache issue? Edit: Looks like the Yahoo auth session is launching in an instance of Edge/Webview2 from review of Task Manager and exit of MWP, seeing instances of msedgewebview2.exe drop out. Clearing cache from all Edge profiles did not resolve.
Seeing that there's a webview2_email-account folder and matching email-account_token file I was wondering whether the unnamed webview2 folder in .\AppData\Roaming\Firetrust\MailWasher\cache is an incomplete OAUTH login instance for the Yahoo account. I tried deleting this folder thinking that it may contain the cached login/token info, and attempting login again. Still fails with the token error above, and a new webview2 is generated, though no _token file is generated.

Re: MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 -- Yahoo POP3 is NOT working even after clicking on NEW "Sign in with Yahoo" button
New development. After all the above, the OAUTH to SSL/TLS Security Connection configuration adjustment has stuck. For some reason, it took a system reboot for this to take effect, despite having MWP closed and restarted a few times previously.
I enabled app passwords in Yahoo, generated one for MWP.
When I manually checked mail for the Yahoo account in MWP, it prompted me for a password with option to Save the cred, which I left unchecked for testing.
I entered my regular password at first, which failed. Checking mail on the Yahoo account again brought up the password prompt once more, at which point I entered the app password.
This time it worked
So that's my experience with getting from OAUTH to SSL/TLS. At least this working for now until the OAUTH issue is resolved.

Re: MailWasher Pro 7.12.173 -- Yahoo POP3 is NOT working even after clicking on NEW "Sign in with Yahoo" button
@Msg, Thank you for posting your process for getting this to work. I was able to get my wife's account working. I have not had any problems with my account; but I don't have OAUTH configured. She did. I think the recent update 'adjusted' her settings, because she had problems about a month ago and I had changed her POP password, etc. to get it to work. While looking for a way to delete the Yahoo login from her setup screen and came across this post. Deleting the account and rebuilding it worked just fine. There was a brief alarm when I went to save the SSL/TSL password and the Yahoo OAUTH login screen popped up. I quickly closed that screen before it completed and it continued just fine.
Even with SSL/TSL configured the settings screen still has a working the OAUTH button. To me that button should only present itself when OAUTH is selected.
