read emails not vanishing in MWP7

read emails not vanishing in MWP7

emails from a private domain are never going away one they have been read - they remain ad unread emails inMWP7 until i manually remove them.
it has become so untenable - if i do not manually remove them in MWP7, even after they have been read, they still appear as unread emails in MWP7
no other email server does this, i have three in use- general, private, and business.
the business emails are on a private domain but it still is nothing mysteriously unique in any way!

MWP7 will do this for any other email server i am using but not this one specific one, it has been like this for years and it has become maddening to constantly have to manually remove them all constantly all day every day for many years.

there is nothing oddball about the email server, it is set up no differently than any other that does remove emails in MWP7 once they have been read, so i am at a loss to comprehend the problem.

what can be done to fix this?!?

Yes, sounds like something amiss with the actual mail server, when you log into this server via webmail, are the emails that wont disappear from view still there?

If so, note that nothing in MW can cause this.... please checkout the below.....


It sounds like you have got your email program setup to leave a copy of the message on the server for this account, or you just need to check mail again in MWP to clear the screen?

First though, please note that Mailwasher does not actually download or keep a copy of the mail, it just checks it on the server and displays a portion of the message so you
can then see if it is spam and decide to delete, or keep it, any mail MW shows is simply mirrored from your ISP's mail server.

OR, another possibility is that this account is setup as IMAP as opposed to POP.... either change the account type to POP in your email client, (you may need to delete the account first, then set it up as POP), OR, you can change to IMAP within MWpro under Settings>>Accounts, click your email account, click the Incoming tab, and beside "Server Type:" select IMAP in place of POP.

Click save to save changes.
Then, in MWPro click, Settings>>Accounts, click your email account, and click the Incoming tab>>Advanced, and ensure that, "Download read emails" is not ticked there.
This way, it wont show all your old emails that are on the mail server.

Another possibility is that your email program has some rule setup to keep the email on the server or something like that? OR, the rule is within your webmail page's settings....?
