Empty the messagetable

I think I have now solved all the problems I had when I changed the passwords on my email accounts. One remains, however.
When will the messages that MW has received disappear from the messagetable?

Yes, messages disappear once they are either removed from the mail server, OR, marked as read in an email account if using IMAP.
