MW 7.12.125 - URL not opening any more...

Hello
Anyone knows what is going on?

Must fix this as it is so annoying!
Suddenly and maybe for the last month on one of my computers (WIN10 1903), URL cannot be opened at all any more.

Never mind the below...

A few things I noticed in the last few months is that it keeps 'crashing' once in a while on two computers:
1. WIN10 1903 - cannot update it more
2. WIN10 22H2

Also why is MW using WebView?
Also since WebView, I get a very high Power usage.

Windows has become a sewer!

Thanks for any help to 'solve' this. I already used the NET Repair tool.

Yes, usually MWPro not opening at all does mean a .net issue, however if you have already tried the .net repair tool, try this....

First ensure MWpro is closed.

Go to Start, type run (then click the Run file so it runs) then in the ‘Open:’ box type (or copy / paste):

%AppData%\Firetrust\MailWasher

Delete the Startup.xml file and restart Mailwasher....?

If it still wont start, you may need to reset MW....

(NOTE: this will reset MW to factory settings, you will need to re-enter all your accounts, lists and filters etc into MWPro, Backup directions below if you wish to do this first)

Can you please uninstall MWPro then browse to the following folders (IF there) and delete the contents:

C:\Program Files\Firetrust
C:\Program Files (x86)\FireTrust
C:\ProgramData\Firetrust

(The last folder is actually hidden, so you may need to enable Windows to show hidden files and folders under,
the Windows Control Panel, Folder Options>>View Tab>>Select, Show hidden files and folders.)

Then try reinstalling MWpro....?

To Backup, you just need to save all files from the Help>>User Files folder, if MW wont start, this is under:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Firetrust\MailWasher

Thank for your reply.

I already did a uninstall re-install, without deleting settings - no change.

Also, I have just now uninstalled again and deleted all settings (I exported them first).

Upon starting, application starts its 'import' script saying there are email accounts ... etc. - I set it NOT to do that.

Then went to File/Import and NOTHING happens!

Bear in mind Firewall does not block it, it is White listed for anything - it is free!

I also noticed this morning upon starting computer, Mailwasher did not start with Windows and I had to start it manually.

Yes, it is obviously listed in the startup.

What the heck happened since last update?

I also personally HATE Microsoft adding more muck within Windows with WebView as well!

I am quite fed-up with it.

... well, I think I fixed it.

Although Mailwasher was Allowed on Firewall, I believe the firewall was blocking it 'stealthy'!

I opened Firewall in and out connections and when I clicked the link in Mailwasher and allowed it, it was showing browser opening connection then closing!

What I have done was uninstall and re-install Firewall and re-allowed Mailwasher.

Links now open, so Firewall somewhat was corrupted - never uninstalled in many years!

Upon re-starting Windows, Mailwasher was still not running, but I was still in the process of re-installing Firewall and I found it blocked - this time.

Allowed and links work.

I have no time now for another reboot, will try it another day.

The end for now.

PS strangely, and only happening to Mailwasher though!

Yes, that is weird alright, note that MWPro opens another program, "updater.exe" to run the update, possibly the firewall did not like that...

Anyway, good to hear all is well again... !
