Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how best to setup MW Pro for use to help filter junk for a family member. They use a laptop, ipad, and phone to access Imap email so I reckoned I could perhaps run MW pro on an always-on home-automation PC, and check into it from time-to-time for tuning and updates.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Does this generally make sense? Can I configure MW to "auto-wash" or similar?
2. If I also run MW on my PC and check into that email account, is there a way to share/update configuration information so that I can update the training data on the always-on PC?
Thanks very much,
Doug

Hi Doug,
Yes, that'd be no problem if that PC was always on, just set MWpro to check mail every XX mins, and once you setup filters, blacklist etc so it is catching most of the spam, set those spam tools to auto delete....
To auto delete senders you have already added to your blacklist for example, click Settings>>Spam Tools>>Blacklist>>Options, tick, "Auto delete blacklisted emails".
You can also set your filters, (Settings>>Spam Tools>>Filters>>click a filter>>Edit) to auto delete by selecting this option under the Actions tab there...
OR.... to set MW to auto delete ANY email that comes in over a specific spam rating, click Settings>>Spam Tools>>Spam Ratings, and tick, "Auto delete if rating reaches:"
Note however, I recommend you read this first before enabling the last option:

Re sharing the configuration, sorry but no, currently no way to do this automatically, however you can backup via File>>Export, and move the resulting data file from one MW installation to the and import it via other via File>>Import on that installation....

Hi Gingbat,
Thanks for the info. That is pretty much what I was thinking.
Does importing a configuration overwrite a previous configuration? If so, is there a way to add friends and blacklist entries to an existing configuration (other than one-by-one)?

Not a problem Doug... and yes, it does overwrite the current configuration and files... unfortunately no real way to combine 2 databases of friends/blacklists for MWpro as yet, you can import a plain text or csv file to the blacklist, but no way to export to a txt or csv file as yet.... (hopefully something we can add eventually though!)
