Either automatic or manual check for updates does not work at all. The only way I'm able to update my MailWasher Pro is to periodically check the changelog to see if there is a new version.
Settings > General > Updates has Automatic check for updates checked and is set for 2 days. To my recollection, I've left this setting to the default as installed.
If I select Help > Check for updates... absolutely nothing happens. I don't even get a notice telling me I'm up to date.
MailWasher Pro has full access through firewall.
Any ideas on how to get this working? Thanks!

Re: Check for Updates not working...
Yep, here's how to fix this problem......
First, (with MWPro closed) if you go into C:\\ProgramData\\Firetrust\\updates\ and delete the files updates.aiu and updates.aiu.part (if present)
See then if the updates work via Help>>Check for Updates.
If no, possibly the update file is corrupted in your user files folder.... try copying updater.ini from help >> common files >> to help >> user files.
To do this......
- Open MWPro, click, Help>>Common Files
- Copy the "updater.ini" file to your desktop or another folder.
- Click, Help>>User Files,
- Minimise the folder that opens,
- Click File>>Exit to close MWPro,
- Maxamise that folder,
- Move the "updater.ini" file into that folder.
Restart MWpro and try updating again....
If still no good, possibly MW is not being allowed access to the updates folder for some reason.... please click, Settings>>General>>Updates and click Browse.
Select your C: Drive and create a new folder named MWinstall (or whatever name you like) and click OK.
Click Save and then try checking for updates again under Help>>Check for updates.

Thank you ... Did not start working until after I rebooted machine. Now I wait to see if it picks up the next update automatically or not.
Have a blessed day!

Hi - same problem. Tried all the suggestions, still not working. I didn't have updates.aiu at all. Any additional suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Check for Updates not working...
Yes, I'd recommend you just install the update manually from here:
https://www.firetrust.com/products/mail ... o/download
If just the same, try those directions with the update installed....?

Re: Check for Updates not working...
Thanks. Yes, updated manually and worked fine, but still doesn't show anything when I try to update from the application. I get an hourglass symbol next to the cursor for about 2 seconds, then nothing...! Oh well, agree I can check the site and update manually as needed.

Re: Check for Updates not working...
Yes, pretty odd none of those options worked to enable the update from within MWpro though...
One other possibility is that your firewall or AV program is blocking the updater.exe program MW uses to check for updates......?

Re: Check for Updates not working...
Yes, no reason it should be faulting alright..... try running MWPro as admin and see if that helps possibly?
If no, yes, you can try uninstalling/rebooting/reinstalling, but ensure you backup first...
-----------
Here's how to backup your MWPro settings:
Open MWPro, click File>>Export,
Click Browse to choose where to save the backup file,
Type a name for it (anything you like)
Click Save,
Then Export.
To restore in future, (IF required) click File>>Import, locate the file you saved and click Import.

Re: Check for Updates not working...
Hi - working! Thanks very much for your help. In the end it was what I thought, a Windows Repair Install did the trick. Didn't even have to reinstall MWP. Cheers!
