You need to first, have "Sent" or "Received" (or both - your choice) in the column header bar. If not there, right click on the bar and select which ever you want. Once in the header bar, using "Sent" as an example, click on Sent. That will sort your messages using the message sent timestamp. Click it again to reverse the order (new to old, or old to new).

Do you see the Sent or Received column headers in the bar above the message table? Just click on the one of those words/column headers to sort by that column. If you'd rather sort by the sender's name, click on "From". If you want to sort by Size, click on "Size".
See this page and scroll down to the image by "Receive only the email you want." See the bar that includes Classify, Delete, Status, Size and From? The Sent or Received column headers, along with other column headers, will be to the right of them. You can sort the entire grid by clicking on those column headers.
Note, I think only "Sent" or "Receive" is there by default. Not both. I configured mine too long ago to remember exactly which appears upon installation.
