Since I upgraded my wife's computer to Win 11, I cannot get her Mail Washer to get emails from GMAIL. And this is even BEFORE launching the new Outlook. We will also consider going back to the classic Outlook. So, I searched on GMAIL and found this item stating that as of January 2025, the "less secure apps" will not be supported. See the URL below.
So, in lieu of this Google change in Jan 2025, does Mail Washer have any detailed documentation on how exactly to setup Mail Washer (all the settings) to work with GOOGLE accounts? We would like to do that now, as opposed to waiting till Jan 2025. Thanks.

If I have enabled 2-step verification for my Gmail account, is there detailed instructions on how to create and use an app password for Mail Washer in the link you sent?gingbat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 9:45 amYes, try what's suggested here:

No longer needed actually, as the latest version now supports OAUTH....
Can you first please open MWpro and click Help>>About, if not using version 7.15.39, install this from here:
https://www.firetrust.com/products/mail ... o/download
Then setup the account:
In Mailwasher Pro click, Settings>>Accounts>>Add Email Account, type any name for this account you like, enter your email address and click Save.
Click the Incoming tab and click "Sign in with Google", follow the prompts and you'll be asked for permission to allow MW access to the account, ensure you agree to this.
If it shows successful, click Save again on the outgoing tab, refresh folders on the IMAP tab (IF asked) and you are all set.

Re: Mail Washer with GMAIL - January 2025
I re-edited my gmail accounts, set to OAUTH, got GMail button, was assured MW now had access to my gmail account.
BUT one of the accounts NEVER downloads the mail to MW. As far as I can see, looking at how the 2 accounts are set up in MW, they are identical to one another in every respect. It's the second gmail account I acquired, unwillingly, because of CA DMV's weird attitude toward ancient addresses. The first seems to connect with MW fairly reliably.
Does anyone know anyone about this? Some sites -- most bothersomely CA's DMV but also a couple others-- say something about my ISP's email and a log-in code arrives long after the DMV's time limit (as in, the next day sometimes). My small local ISP provider has superb service and is also the only one that works here, so I'd really like to be able to see what's on the second gmail site without having to remember to check in with Gmail.
TIA

Yes, send yourself an email to this account, wait a couple of mins, then check mail for it in MW, if you do not see it, I recommend you try deleting the problem email account first:
Settings>>Accounts, click the account>>Remove Account.
Click File>>Exit to close MWpro, then re-open it.
Then setup the account/s again exactly as below:
In Mailwasher Pro click, Settings>>Accounts>>Add Email Account, type any name for this account you like, enter your email address and click Save.
Click the Incoming tab and click "Sign in with Google", follow the prompts and you'll be asked for permission to allow MW access to the account, ensure you agree to this.
If it shows successful, click Save again on the outgoing tab, refresh folders on the IMAP tab (IF asked) and you are all set.
Please let me know how it all goes....
