The download.com one was unexpected on my part, I assumed it would have been uploaded as a new product, not updating the old one.

Good things take time :) and we are really in no hurry, if anything a lot of us could do with a nice weeks break....well, I know that's what I want

Are you sure?
Incidentally I think Firetrust need to do a lot to publicise this new version.
I was indeed referring to the NEW version.
I stand corrected. As Emily Litella used to say, "Never Mind".

Beta testers seem to have missed out on quite a few bits that of the old version got left of the shiny new interface.

Maybe you were just squishing bugs rather than looking for gaps.

I can't believe that they invited only "fanboys" to test it.

That is a bit unfair :( We pointed out loads of missing features and requested lots of new ones too.

Our job is to test the code supplied, we do this in our own free time and are not employed by FT!

Good to know that you complained about the missing bits.

Pity no one paid enough attention to hold back the release until they plugged the gaps.

Then again, ignoring beta input is the sort of behaviour I have seen when testing for "the big boys".

(I have never seen beta testing as simply checking the code – I like to cause trouble, which is probably why they keep asking me back.)

But they don't usually try to launch new versions that remove key features from the package.

There have been multiple public requests for beta testers for the new version since before they started coding it. That goes back to when the forums were hosted on CastleCops a couple years ago.

It's unreasonable to assume that somehow the beta testers were responsible for deciding which features took precedence over others. Many testers requested many things, and the final decision was ours and ours alone.

If people want to wait another 6 months for all the different features to be finished they can, there's nothing stopping you not using the new version.

As someone who doesn't use any of the advanced features of Mailwasher, I am trying to find a reason to upgrade, but so far I don't see it especially with the yearly subscription.

I would definitely look to upgrade for a flat $10 if it was lifetime and even if it excluded the premium features to support the company. Something like the free version but supporting more than one account. Personally all of my email comes through Gmail, but I have several Gmail accounts for various uses so I use MW to somewhat screen and just keep up to date on the multiple accounts. At the end of the night or every couple of nights I just launch Thunderbird to clear MW and this way I am only looking at current emails for the current day or so. I just found it helped versus always leaving my email program open since I found I would miss emails every once and a while due to the high amount of traffic.

Ouch lmao.

Been using it for more years than I care to remember. My personal opinion don't forget ;)
