'Restore' fails to restore

Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:50 am

A message I'd marked as good (green thumb up) and had added to my friends list was mysteriously deleted when I commenced washing the mail. It never showed up at my electronic-mail client, neither would it restore in spite of my following restoration directions to the letter. Now, I must wait 24 hours before I can receive this particular message again (the sender's requirement). This is, to say the least, inconvenient.

:?

Of course, I'm mystified by MailWasher Pro 2010 deleting that message in the first place; but even more, I'm displeased with the restore function's failure to work. (That message was listed in the recycle bin, but it would not restore.) Any helpful and positive suggestions on how to prevent these failures of MailWasher Pro 2010 in the future would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Always pay attention to the column showing the Trash Can icon, if you don't have the column showing I would advise that you do so. If there is a check mark on the can the message will be deleted without regard to the rating.

With reference to Restore make sure that you Outgoing Account setting for the Account that the message came in on are totally correct. Also then check Settings, Recycle Bin, Restoring and make sure the account shown under Fallback Account is valid and has the Outgoing settings correct. This one is used if the Account that the message came from fails for some reason.

Please note that some mail service providers have their own Spam filters in place on the server and may reject the message you are trying to restore as Spam.

If nothing else works set up a Gmail account, enable POP and SMTP and set that up as the account to restore your message to.

Keep in mind that you will only get back the portion of the message you downloaded into MW, not the whole thing. The amount you'll get back is the spam-throttle setting unless you triggered an extended download in which case you'll get 999 lines.

Of course you can always read and copy/paste the downloaded portion of the message directly from the recycle tab which for me is less hassle than restoring in almost every instance.

Let us know what settings you have as your Outgoing Server for that account, usually it's just a setup issue.
